Parent Drop-off Safety Concerns:
All students being transported to/from school in a vehicle MUST use the car rider lines. Parents are not permitted to drop students off on the roadway and allow them to walk the remainder of the way to/from school.

What time does parent pickup begin?
Students will be dismissed for parent pickup at 3:40 PM.

When does the school day begin and end?
Our school day begins at 8:50 and ends at 3:50. No student may be dropped off before 8:30 AM and any student arriving after 8:50 must be signed in inside of the office by the adult dropping them off.

How can I change my child's transportation?
Any changes to a child's permanent means of transportation must be submitted in writing. For the safety of our students, those changes are not allowed to be made over the telephone, via email/Parent Square, etc.

How can I become a volunteer?
Volunteers provide an essential link between our school and the community. You are invaluable to the success of our school and students. Volunteer help comes in many different forms. You may contact April Brooks (Oakland's Volunteer Coordinator) [email protected], your child's teacher, or the school office (931-920-7422) and we will help you get involved. When you request to become a volunteer, you will be provided with a volunteer packet which contains all necessary forms that must be completed and signed prior to volunteering. We love our volunteers and thank you for giving us your time!

What are the bus routes and who do I contact to get schedule information?
You may access bus information at or contact bus transportation at 931-358-4089.

Who can pick up my child at school?
Only authorized persons (names on the emergency card and marked with permission) will be allowed to pick up a student. Students will not be pulled from buses for parent pick-up. All adults will be required to present a photo identification card prior to the student being dismissed.

What is the policy on eating lunch with a student?

In order to eat lunch with a student, you must show identification, be listed on the emergency card and marked with permission to pick the student up before approval is provided. Any special circumstances will require written notification and parent signature prior to the student's scheduled lunch time. This is CMCSS policy can be found here.

When can I talk to my child's teacher?
Teachers will set appointments to talk to parents before school starts, after school, or during their planning time. You may also write a note or send an email requesting an appointment with the teacher.

How can I purchase an Oakland shirt?
Oakland shirts are available for purchase in the office in youth and adult sizes while supplies last. Both green shirts are short sleeve and cost $15. The baseball style three quarter length sleeve shirt is $20. We can only accept checks made to Oakland Elementary or the exact cash total amount. Parents may stop by anytime tomorrow during the hours of 9:30-2:30 to purchase their child(ren) shirts. An order form will also go home with students tomorrow that can be submitted upon returning from the three day weekend on Tuesday. Supplies are limited so be sure to submit your order quickly!
