Hello! My name is Raven Herbert, and I am so excited to be joining the Oakland Elementary family! This is my first year at Oakland, but my 11th year teaching elementary physical education. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance, Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and Education Specialist (EdS) degree in Administration from Austin Peay State University. I love teaching children the importance of being active, healthy, and confident. My goal is to create a positive and fun environment where every student feels successful and can discover activities they enjoy. I hope my students leave PE with a love for movement that they can carry with them both in and outside of school. Outside of school, I love traveling to the beach, spending time with my family, working out, and cheering on the VOLS! 🧡
I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students and families and having a wonderful school year filled with movement, laughter, learning, and lots of fun!
