The future is walking in our hallways and sitting in our classrooms daily. It all starts right here at Oakland Elementary School.
I have been working with CMCSS for 20 years, with experience in third grade, kindergarten, academic coaching, and providing reading interventions. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with students everyday.

Though my passion is teaching children the skills needed to become independent readers, I feel very strongly about increasing parental and community involvement within the lives of students. It takes a village to educate the whole child; physically, emotionally, and academically. It is my desire to not only build strong relationships among students, parents, and staff, but also members of the community.

Oakland uses a positive behavior matrix that promotes student awareness in expected behaviors.  This matrix can be seen in every room, throughout the building and builds off our building expectations (OWLS).  These indicators are also linked to Class Dojo, which is used not only by teachers but throughout the entire building by special area teachers, special service providers, support staff, and administrators to provide consistency for our students and with parent communication.
